Bartók: Subject and Reflection
David Appleton (Piano) with Barbara Gutierrez (artist/film)

Piano Circus pianist David Appleton performs solo piano works by Béla Bartók:

Sonata (1926) plus extracts from Out-of-Doors plus a montage of miniatures (of between two seconds and two minutes in length) reflecting some aspect of Bartók's life and work. These tiny fragments have been created by more than a dozen disparate composers and sound artists including Lynne Plowman, Lorraine Bowen, Patrick Nunn, Santiago Santero and Federico Ruben. A curious collage of film/visuals will be created by Barbara Gutierrez.
